Kuro fandom and fighting misinformation
Hi there! :D So with the announcement of a new anime coming up in 2024, a large part of the fandom took a pledge to avoid the return of fandom toxicity (yay ! <3) and I wanted to do my part, as more than a decade long reader of this series. :))
As some of you might know, my thing is theorizing. I’m probs a relic and no one cares, but ! after over 10 years on this site, my tag for Kuro theories has about 150 pages. Most of Kuro theorists and info blogs are long gone from this site, but some of us remain and know where info can be found.
While Yana has been more silent recently, because she’s overworked (working on both Kuroshitsuji and Twisted Wonderland) and that’s why the pace is slow, she used to be pretty talkative about Kuroshitsuji’s story, leaving hints and additional lore about her characters in some blog posts and tweets that she would write from time to time.
Lately though, these nice details and facts have been more than forgotten and, as such, misinformation has been spreading.
So ! The point of this post is to link to these info sources that some bloggers, while inactive, have left on tumblr. Additionally, seeing as I have vacations soon, I will try to debunk some assumed misconceptions that I saw lately throughout the fandom because :
- I genuinely think Yana is doing a great job weaving such a meticulous mystery. She’s playing around with foreshadowing and using the many nuances of the Japanese language to hide subtle hints and she’s very commendable as a writer for that. <3
- This fandom used to be pretty good at collaborating to try and guess answers. Sure, many left but the ones who stayed are still very eager to find out what Yana has planned for so many years (otherwise no one would read the chapters every month), so I say let’s keep digging ! :D
- Last one is more personal, but some of y’all have had a lot of fun lately leaving disrespectful comments on my posts, maybe thinking I’m some sort of dusty theory blog or idk. (◕ᴗ◕✿) The fact is though that a) I’ve been here longer than probably most of you, b) I haven’t been wrong often and c) over the years I’ve proposed at least one theory for nearly every mystery of Kuroshitsuji that still is relevant to this day. Waiting for your stats if you want to fight (to say nothing about the amount of time writing this kind of posts takes), but I doubt they’re better than mine. 💅
Anyway :D Here are some links for you guys. Read or read not, that’s on you now!

Lastly, for the duration of August, if there’s a topic in Kuroshisuji you’d specifically like to discuss, then you can come talk to me through the askbox, I’ll answer privately. :)) If you have a request about some misinformation in particular, or if you’re looking for blog recommendations for theories, you can also ask (by comment, reblog or the askbox). Anons are for now cancelled for the whole month at least (if I still have asks to answer, then I will, don’t worry).
Enjoy your weekend, Kuro fandom! ^3^
The other night I had a really weird dream where Sebastian just completely broke character and started ranting about what a pain it was to pretend to be human and how nobody understood the effort he put into his human personas, while Ciel was sitting dumbfounded in the corner of the train compartment trying to do his taxes
